Chaga Latte with Actual Coffee:
Ingredients:
- 1 shot espresso or 1 cup brewed coffee
- 1 teaspoon chaga powder
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon cacao powder
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 pinch sea salt
- ⅓ cup oat milk
Instructions:
- Brew your coffee or prepare a shot of espresso according to your preference.
- In a small saucepan, add the chaga powder and 1 cup of water. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over low heat and let it brew for about 10-15 minutes. This process extracts the beneficial compounds from the chaga powder.
- While the chaga is brewing, add the maple syrup, cinnamon, cacao powder, cayenne pepper, sea salt, and oat milk to a blender. Blend on high speed until well combined and frothy.
- Once the chaga has finished brewing, strain it to remove any particles, and pour it into the blender with the other ingredients. Blend again on low speed just to incorporate the chaga.
- Pour the brewed coffee or espresso into a mug, and then top it with the chaga mixture from the blender. Stir gently to combine.
- Optionally, you can heat the combined mixture in a microwave-safe container for 45 seconds to warm it up before pouring it over the coffee or espresso.
- Enjoy your Chaga Latte with actual coffee!
By brewing the chaga powder separately, you can ensure a proper extraction of its beneficial properties while still incorporating it into a delicious latte with the addition of coffee and other flavorful ingredients.
